Swedes say that “alone, one is strong”. But Karolina Thunberg and Ísak Ásgeirsson prove that two people who complement each other are stronger. This Swedish/Icelandic pair have gone through heaven and hell together, embodied through their band Baula. Between distorted, country-flavored guitars, a gritty indie drive and the somber tones of Nordic melancholy, they have developed their own signature sound, which was cemented in 2019 on their first EP Drought.

They now return with their debut-album, an exploration of inner destruction and how it can manifest, in relation to oneself, to one’s loved ones, and to complete strangers.
